Oxbow Featherwood
Oxbow Featherwood
Featherwood — Ellen’s invention described in chapter 40, Theo of Golden — is a piece of wood (dogwood, maple, cherry, others), roughly 5 inches tall and 4 to 6 inches in diameter, cut from fallen trees that allen has gathered from the forests around his house. He has drilled 20 to 30 holes into each piece of wood, into which you can insert feathers that you find in your walks and outdoor activities.
Each piece will be embossed with Ellen’s logo, OF (for Oxbow Featherwood) and includes a signed card with a short verse by allen, and a few feathers to get your collection started.
Featherwood is a tool for attentiveness. It might surprise you to discover how much pleasure can come from simply finding a stray bit of plumage. And, if you’re really fortunate, you might someday stumble across the tail feather of a blue jay (see page 257)!
With every Oxbow Featherwood purchase, you'll receive a complimentary 5x7 print of artwork by Garry Pound. Enjoy this beautiful addition alongside your unique piece of art!
